The meaning of a summons or subpoena

When either the landlord or tenant intends to start legal action a summons is issued on which the claim is stated. A summons is a document a landlord or tenant or their representative issues, but the court rules empowers a sheriff to serve it. A summons is served generally if a tenant does not vacate a property after an eviction notice or for failure to pay rent due. It is first presented to the Clerk of the Court who stamps it and files a copy in the (landlord’s) file in court.

The year is already four months old and time is not waiting for anyone! I trust you are all working well in 2012 and leasing property easily and professionally.

Consumer Protection Act: This is the most confusing act that I can remember and every attorney pronounces themselves an expert, though their interpretations are varied. The Consumer Protection Commission has not established tribunals as promised and therefore there are no cases being heard and no case history to give us guidelines to go by.
